#004 GAD BA1 P1: Board Game - The Forging Of The Universe.

After we had came back with the basic concepts for each part of the game our group had to present our game board concept to one of our tutors, Nigel Potter. Nigel gave us some critical feedback and questioned some of the choices we had made, one of the main points is that although we were not using the traditional dice the game was still based on luck as a mechanic.

As each aspect of the game was broken apart and analysed, it slowly developed into a much more tactical and exciting game. We all had new ideas to address the issues pointed out by Nigel so we set about implementing them. To remove the reliance of the game on luck, we decided to navigate around it by having 3 classes of ships that the player had a choice from. Not only would the ships determine how many spaces a player can move every turn but we had the idea of also determine how many weapons the ships can carry.

For example, there will be a fast speed ship that can hold 4 weapons and can move up to 6 spaces, a medium speed ship that can hold 6 weapons and can move 6 space, and a large ship that can hold 8 weapons but can only move 4 spaces.

It was also decided that we should use a 6 sided octagon board, we felt that this gave the game a more attractive dynamic to the board game. We arranged another meeting time for the next day so that we could begin researching and developing our specific roles. When we confer the next day we will be able to see the progress the others have made and compare our work to make sure that they all colaberate well together.
