The next part is to create the wall that the door will actually fit in to. After that I plan to create the hinge that holds the door in place and allows it to open.
Step 1: Create a large cylinder, 17.5 units by 17.5 units and 2 units deep. |
Step 2: Clean the top and bottom surface. |
Step 3: Create another cylinder, this time 17.9 units by 17.9 units and 1 unit deep. |
Step 4: Again, clean up the edges on the top and bottom of the cylinder. |
Step 5: Lower the second cylinder into the middle of the original one. |
Step 6: Select the two faces and use Boolean Union. |
Step 7: Create a cylinder, 0.8 units by 0.8 units by 5 units. |
Step 8: Lower the cylinders into the middle of the other cylinder. |
Step 9: Delete the upper and lower cylinder face. |
Step 10: Duplicate the smaller cylinder and rotate it around the centre by 60 degrees 5 times. |
Step 11: Select all the smaller cylinders and combine them. |
Step 12: Use the Boolean Difference tool to cut them into the cylinder. |
Step 13: Create a large plane, 20 units tall and 40 unit wide. |
Step 14: Extrude the planes face by 2 units. |
Step 15: Select the inner cylinder and the wall and use the Boolean Difference tool. |
Step 16: Copy in the pieces from the last section and place them in the middle to match the hole. |
